Carshalton College staff member Charlotte Howard and family have been busy supporting our NHS.

Charlotte who is one of our Apprenticehip Managers says: “Thank you to everyone who donated to our appeal for cakes, biscuits and drinks for the Royal Brompton Hospital in London.

I can't believe the response I have had and the incredible generosity of donations. Less than a week ago, Trudy from the Brompton Fountain Charity requested donations for the amazing NHS staff who are working hard towards battling COVID 19.

I have struggled over the years with a child who has a heart condition so I wanted to give back to the NHS and this was my perfect opportunity.  The Royal Brompton Hospital is a cause that is particularly close to our hearts. In 2015 our then 3 year old son Jude was diagnosed with a heart condition, known as PAPVD. He had life saving open heart surgery at the Royal Brompton in December of that year. Without the hospital, the future for our son didn't bear thinking about.

He is now a healthy, happy 7 year old.  We have been fundraising for the Brompton over the last 5 years and we have managed to raise £20,000 so far through charity events and donations and will continue to support the Brompton wherever and whenever we can.

So a big thank you to everyone who has donated.”
