Leanne Fraser (right) is studying a part time Foundation degree (FdA) in Education & Learning and recently had the pleasure of meeting Juliet Desailly, Author and Educator.
Juliette visited the school Leanne’s works in December to give a talk to the children and lead on a workshop to make creative masks. Leanne spoke to her about the course she was doing and how Juliette’s book Creativity in the Primary Classroom is promoted as recommended reading. Juliette was very pleased and praised the resource that Leanne had made to use for her pupils.
Juliet Desailly is one of the recommended teachings on the FdA course with a specific module, Exploring a Creative Curriculum, which Carshalton College introduced this year as part of the 2017 revalidation of the FdA Education & Learning. The module includes creation of a staff development tool to promote creativity and an accompanying report/rationale.
Leanne commented: “I thoroughly enjoyed this module as it allowed me the opportunity to be imaginative and explore my creativity from within. It suited me as I was able to physically create something instead of only writing an essay”.
