This course is a practical, work related alternative to GCSEs.
Students on this course will be invited to attend cross-college events that will develop their job skills. Examples of previous events students have attended are:
- ·Skills London
- ·Meet the Apprentice with the National Careers Service
Art and Media students also work on external briefs set by different companies. This year we have worked with Sutton Council designing artwork for an alleyway in Sutton and designing lighting for the alleyway.
Course Content and Job SkillsUnits studied will provide students with an introduction to a range of materials, processes and technical skills necessary to support creative activity in art and design. They will also provide students with an awareness of the broader context within which art and design is positioned.
Entry RequirementsAn average of Grade D/3 for four or more GCSEs including English Language, or you will have successfully completed a Level 1 vocational programme and a Level 1 literacy qualification. You may also be asked to demonstrate your commitment and skills in an interview.
AssessmentsThe course is continuously assessed
ProgressionStudents can progress to UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Art & Design
