Cskills Level 1 Certificate in Multitrade Construction Activities

The Level 1 Certificate in Multitrade Construction Activities qualification has been developed for delivery in a training environment. This means that you do not need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding so you can work as a Construction Operative in the construction industry or progress to further training.

This Level 1 Certificate will give you a solid foundation in Multi-trade Construction Activities and prepare you to take further qualifications to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding within Multi-trade Construction Activities.

You should undertake this qualification if you have some previous experience (e.g. work placement, working with family, summer job etc.).

This is a multi-trade qualification where learners will develop basic skills in the following areas:

  • Woodworking
  • Plastering
  • Painting and decorating
  • Bricklaying
  • Wall and Floor Tiling.

This qualification comprises of 2 mandatory units and various optional units.

Course Content

The learner will cover key practical skills and knowledge in:

  • Health and safety
  • Working and communicating effectively
  • Construct woodworking joints
  • Fit architrave and skirting
  • Fit ironmongery to an internal door
  • Using plaster materials to produce moulds
  • Plaster a ceiling
  • Plaster walls
  • Plaster corners
  • Apply paint to substrates
  • Apply wallpapers to substrates
  • Prepare substrates for painting and decorating
  • Build a block wall
  • Build a brick wall
  • Build a cavity wall
  • Tile floors
  • Tile walls.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements to take this qualification. This qualification can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.
