This programme provides knowledge in all aspects of construction maintenance operations including carpentry and joinery, bricklaying, plastering, plumbing, painting and decorating and tiling together with the underpinning and supporting knowledge to work safely in the construction sector.
Course ContentUnits may include;
- Knowledge of building methods and construction technology.
- Carry out safe working practices in construction
- Carry out small-scale masonry trade/painting, decorating/plastering/plumbing/wood trade repairs
- Employment rights and responsibilities
- Development of numeracy and literacy skills at Level 2
AssessmentsYou will be assessed in the workplace to provide evidence of working at a competent level to be able to satisfy the requirements of the NVQ Level 2.
Entry RequirementsYou will need to be in employment and have a minimum grade E/2 in English and Maths GCSEs or you will have successfully completed the appropriate Level 1 programme. You will be asked to attend an interview to further demonstrate your commitment to the programme.
ProgressionOn successful completion, students can progress to an Advanced (Level 3) Apprenticeship
