Foundation Degree (FdA) Health & Social Care
  • Validated: Validated by University of Roehampton

The aim of this degree is to create a structured career pathway for those currently working in roles within the diverse spectrum of Health and Social Care environments. The degree is validated by the University of Roehampton.

Practitioners joining the programme are initially enrolled on the Health and Social Care Foundation Degree, with the option of subsequent progression to a full Honours Degree.

The structure allows the students the opportunity to exit the programme with 240 credits and achieve a Foundation Degree. If students exit the programme at the end of the first year, and achieve 120 credits at Level 4, they will receive a Certificate of Higher Education.

Those students who are successful in achieving 240 credits will receive a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care and can then apply for the final year and complete a further 120 Level 6 credits in order to achieve a full Honours Degree. This vocational programme will be a coherent integration of Higher Education level work and work-based learning. It will equip students with the current knowledge, skills and values required in the challenging and diverse arena of Health and Social Care.
