Learn how to repair and service motorcycles to gain an industry-recognised qualification in motorcycle engineering. You'll work on a wide range of motorbikes and scooters in one of our two well-stocked workshops. We have over 60 models including BMW, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Suzuki. Our workshops are kitted out with a great range of tools and specialist equipment including a rolling road (a Fuchs Dynamometer), which is a high-tech performance tuning machine that tests the efficiency and performance of an engine.

- Techniques for chassis maintenance
- Engine and braking systems
- Motorcycle construction
- Steering and suspension
- Electrical and lighting
- Tools, equipment and materials
- Health and safety.
Practical assessments under observation, online multiple choice exams and a portfolio of work.
Entry RequirementsThree GCSEs A\*-G including English or maths; OR other related qualifications and experience.
ProgressionProgress on to our Level 2 motorcycle course to improve your skills and job prospects or get onto an apprenticeship in motorcycle engineering.
Additional InformationThis is a hands-on course in a workshop so you'll need overalls and boots to do the course safely. If you don't have your own, you can buy overalls and boots from the College. Your tutors will give you more information on this.
