ERS Water Regulations Course

To provide the installer, designer or a specifier of water fittings and the associated systems with information to meet the requirements of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999. This course will provide the necessary information in order to complete the ERS Water Regulations Assessment and prove competence in the Water Regulations to meet the requirements of an approved contractor scheme.

This is a stand alone training and assessment course. It is suitable for plumbing and trade operatives undertaking the course for the first time or for those renewing their expiring qualifications.

Content & Qualification

The course will instruct candidates to the level of competence necessary to meet the requirements of the Water Regulations 1999.

Qualification:- ERS Certificate of Competence in Water Regulations

Entry Requirements & Attendance

For those candidates who install and maintain water systems, a plumbing qualification is preferable but not essential.

The training (if required) will take half a day (morning) with the assessment being held during the afternoon of the same day. (8.15am to 4.00pm, usually held on a Wednesday).

Assessment:- The assessment will be one multiple choice open book theory examination.


Following a successful outcome, candidates can apply for approved plumber status. Please note; Any candidates who wish to apply for approved plumber status, are required to provide a formal plumbing qualification when submitting an application.

Additional Information

Costs:- Whole day course fee: £250 (payable in advance)

We can also offer a half day (afternoon 1.00pm to 4.00pm) reassessment only package for £125 (payable in advance). The assessment will be one multiple choice open book theory examination.

Please note: All candidates are required to bring 2 recent passport size photographs and their National Insurance Number upon attending this course.
