Work Experience/Employability Skills
Work experience will be undertaken by all students, you will work with the Sports Team throughout the year working as a Recreation Assisstant in Pulse gym/Sports Hall, this is a mandatory part of your course.
Trips and visits to Sports career fairs and employers are organised throughout the course.
Students on this course will be invited to attend cross-college events that will develop their job skills.
The course will also help learners develop their English, maths and employability skills, and gain a Level 1 qualification.
A positive reference is also required from school, employer or a tutor - this must include attendance and punctuality.
You may also be asked to demonstrate your commitment and skills in an interview.

Spotlight on Sports +Bernardo Maia, Sports Level 2 “I always liked sports from a young age and practise whenever I have the chance. Carshalton College is my local college and as they had a good range of Sports courses, I chose to enrol on the Level 1 Sports course last year. I immediately liked the staff tutors who were friendly and approachable and the facilities looked good. We get to use the mini gym in the College plus Pulse Health & Fitness Centre next door, which has a large sports hall to play football, basketball, badminton etc. Also a fully equipped gym with loads of equipment and of course a swimming pool. I am now on the Level 2 Sports course. The most enjoyable aspects of the course are still the practical lessons and games! If you are a full time student on any course, not just sports, you get free use of Pulse during the day 5 days a week! I would really recommend the course and the college.
