The Advanced Learner Loan Bursary is available to students aged 19-23 (on the 31st of August) who already have a Level 3 qualification, or aged 24 or over (on the 31st of August) and are studying a Level 3 or Level 4 course. Students must have an approved Advanced Learner loan and a total household income of less than £30,000 per year, or are in receipt of or supported by someone who is in receipt of, a qualifying benefit. The funding is offered to assist them to continue in full time education and training by providing a contribution towards the costs of attending college such as transport, childcare (student who are 20+), equipment, UCAS applications, university visits/interviews and other course related costs.

Please note that this is a limited fund. Students will need to meet the eligibility criteria and maintain a minimum of 85% attendance to receive support. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.

 

Am I eligible for the Advanced Learner Loan Bursary Fund?

To be eligible you must meet the criteria above and:

    • Have an approved Advanced Learner Loan
    • Be an enrolled student on a government funded course
    • Have a total gross, household income of less than £30,000 per year or be supported by someone who is in receipt of a qualifying means tested benefit.
    • Have 'home' student status or have been granted full 'refugee' or 'asylum seeker' statusHave been 'ordinarily resident' in the UK, EU or EEA continuously for the last three years with 'settled status' which means having indefinite leave to remain
