Our Employability team at Carshalton College organised work experience for some of our students from Level 2 Carpentry.
The students who progressed from Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery last year had their first experience of working on a building site to help convert an old bank in Sutton into a Sound Lounge with Team VIY.
Feedback from Sue, Project Manger said:
"In all the years of doing Team VIY I have met some lovely young people but I don’t think I have met any that were as good as today. They were all extremely polite; never moaned about the work; listened to everything the mentor and myself was explaining to them; worked hard all day; came back from lunch on time; worked together as a team and on their own; didn’t engage in hostile or negative conversations; kept the work areas clean and were actively engaged in everything they did.
They were a credit to their College and I enjoyed being in their company and I enjoyed my day with them.
So please pass this on to your students, and we'd love to have them back to a project in the future."
