Level 4 Salon Management, Level 3 Laser (IPL), and Level 2 & 3 Beauty Therapy students at Kingston College met with Dr Brian Franks who delivered an engaging and important workshop which aimed to inspire, educate and help enhance their careers. At the end of the workshop the students had a greater understanding and knowledge of:

  • Future changes in the law
  • What to pay attention to when choosing their next right educational path
  • The different types of qualifications and awarding bodies e.g. CPD, VTCT, OFQUAL and where to find the website of registered providers
  • The importance of the role of the British Beauty Council, the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practioners (JCCP) and other non profit organisations
  • Insurance in practices, insurance checks and complications when is payment is refused

Team Leader – Hair & Beauty, Jenny Wiltshire commented: “It was an important and informative event for both the students and the Beauty team. We also met with other external industry experts which created a networking opportunity to meet practitioners who are on advisory panels to government.”

About Dr Brian Franks:

Dr Brian Franks is a leading aesthetics practitioner & trainer, who has provided non-surgical medical aesthetic training courses since 2010 and was formerly the Clinical Lead & Senior Lecturer on the MSc in Facial Aesthetics at the School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Central Lancashire. Currently he is Visiting Professor, City of London Dental School, for the MSc Programmes, University of Bolton, Queens Institute of Medicine.
