Our Year 1 and Year 2 Applied Human Sciences students participated in a Crime Scene Investigation event this week, provided by Thinkers in Education.

This event was part of the students' Criminology unit, giving them a real experience of forensic science and investigative work by providing equipment for them to use and a realistic case to solve. A reconstructed crime scene was transported to the College's car park.

The students took part in investigating the mock crime scene and then analysed blood samples, DNA, finger prints and bones. They then had to use critical thinking to summarise their findings and conclude what had happened and why.
