The College hosted an opening ceremony for the Creative Industries Centre on Friday 27 March 2015. The £10 million flagship facility was officially opened by Dr Vince Cable, MP for Twickenham.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from the Creative Industries sector in around and Kingston as well as College student delegates and staff - and the building and design teams who were instrumental in delivering the building.

The opening was marked with the unveiling of a plaque by Dr Cable, who is also co-chair of the Creative Industries Council. Ahead of the unveiling Dr Cable said: “The creative industries are growing twice as fast as the economy. It is something Britain does brilliantly, and we are often world leaders in it.” He then went on to say: “It’s the innovative colleges that take the opportunities; they’re doing extremely well – and it looks like this is one of them. I wish you well and my congratulations to everyone here who has helped make it possible."
