We recently had a guest speaker run a Digital Design Workshop.  Dr Oliver M. Gingrich from the University or Roehampton provided the workshop for 3 of our student groups, Year 2 Games, and 1st & 2nd Year Art & Media.

The students discussed the future of Digital Design as a force for social change. Together they were looking at new developments in Digital, including job opportunities in a fast-growing market, with top starting salaries for UX and UI Designers. They explored interface designs for a mobile app. Students were invited to design their own interface and explore the many opportunities within Digital Design as a strategy for social change.

Dr. Oliver Gingrich is Senior Lecturer in the School of Arts, specialising on Digital Design, Participatory Arts and Animation. His research focuses on the effect of media arts and participatory arts practices on social connectedness. With a professional background in holographic projection, and media arts focus on visual sound, Oliver Gingrich encourages students to explore new artistic and creative strategies using a range of digital technologies within an artistic and professional context.
